Sacher Magazine Redesign - SCOOP & SPOON

    Sacher Magazine Redesign

    Scoop & Spoon

    Idea

To lead a hotel of historic significance successfully into the 21st century is a big challenge. For Sacher, this means merging the luxury of modern technology with its historic ambience to create a coherent and authentic whole. Since both Sacher hotels in Vienna and Salzburg have undergone extensive renovation works, Sacher also wanted to update their annual magazine to reflect this extensive modernisation. SCOOP & SPOON set out to revamp the magazine with a clean design, powerful imagery and fascinating behind-the-scenes insights into the world of Sacher.

    Challenge

Sacher is a well-known and carefully maintained brand. Decisions are made with an eye on long-term value, nothing is left to chance. Since the Sacher magazine is published annually, it was important to create stories that are topical throughout the course of an entire year. The high standard of Sacher also needed to be reflected in the magazine.

    Implementation

To give the magazine a new look and feel that is both modern and timeless yet tips the hat to the historic grandeur of the Hotel Sacher, SCOOP & SPOON has blended a healthy portion of clean white space with big, colourful pictures and carefully placed text ornaments. Text elements were reduced to make the stories more to the point, easier to read and more engaging by allowing visual elements to tell part of the story. Extensive interviews and behind-the-scene shoots with the Sacher family, employees and owners, ensure guests enjoy unprecedented insight into the fascinating world of Sacher.

    Result

With a wealth of stories, images and interviews, the redesigned Sacher magazine is an elegant yet fascinating read and the perfect pastime when visiting one of the famous Sacher hotels, restaurants or cafés. Have a digital flick trough the new magazine on the Sacher website.
